INFRACom! introduces [re:jazz] Catalogue 100 is intended to offer a contemporary, but nonetheless timeless, documentation of the last ten years at INFRACom!, with a range of compositions which we believe to be worthwhile and deserving to be considered truly innovative, featured in our catalogue, and based on an enduring style which remains one of our principal sources of inspiration: jazz. The Method: Reverse Engineering Bass, Piano, Percussion. The instrumental combination of the traditional trio - which first arose in a club environment appears to us by far the best suited for a presentation of contemporary club music compositions. The underlying concept is to place the chief emphasis upon the presentation of the composition itself interpreted in a traditional manner, although originally electronic to eliminate the apparent contradictions between "Real Jazz", "Hand-Made Music", "Computer-Generated and/or Sample-Based Music", and "Authentic versus Electronically-based Musicians". We wish to do so by means of creations derived from our own resources, i.e., our catalogue of 100 recordings, through the reinterpretation of a few selected pieces by artists already recording for us, as well as selected guest artists, making the creations recorded in this manner available during a subsequent phase as raw material for remixing, bringing the music back to the dance floor. Two CDs will be issued featuring [re: jazz] The project COMPARE [RE:JAZZ] WITH ORIGINAL In order to get the whole picture, we give you the chance to compare the [re:jazz] versions with the original songs. click here to listen and compare!! Matthias Vogt, a trained jazz musician recording for INFRACom! under the name of DJ Matt/Motorcitysoul in the electronic club music context, was entrusted with the task of arranging a reinterpretation of selected pieces from the past 10 years of our label's history, with Mr. Vogt's jazz trio. We intend to work entirely without special electronic effects, relying solely upon the skills of the musicians and recording technicians. In so doing, we wish to include several instrumentalists and vocalists whose work has inspired us, and whose talent we appreciate. We are utterly convinced that the results will be surprising in many ways.
